The Philadelphia Freedom Pass is a journey from the City of Brotherly Love to the picturesque Eastern Shore of Maryland. Walkers will have an amazing experience from the moment they step on the Philadelphia Freedom bus, Friday, September 5 to the moment they cross the Chesapeake Challenge Finish Line on Sunday, September 7.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2014
- Walkers will meet a chartered bus in Philadelphia to begin the voyage to the Eastern Shores of Maryland. Walkers will enjoy music, movies and refreshments on the journey.
- At the Challenge Walk official hotel, walkers will check in to Challenge Walk Weekend and get situated in their rooms at the Comfort Inn.
- Following checkin, enjoy refreshments and mingling at a Friday night social at the Comfort Inn.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2014
- Walkers can stop for a quick bite at the hotel breakfast area. A continental breakfast will be served starting at 5:30 a.m.
- A shuttle bus will be provided for all Philadelphia Freedom Pass participants to the starting line at 7:15 a.m. to Romancoke Pier on Kent Narrows, where team and walker photographs will be taken!
- On Saturday evening, walkers are invited to attend dinner and the candle light ceremony.
- The Saturday Night Party is the highlight of the weekend! There will be music and mingling with fellow participants.
- Snacks as well as sodas, water, wine and beer will be provided for all participants and volunteers
- Following the Saturday night party will be the candlelight ceremony. This ceremony is a special time to gather in celebration of everything that will be accomplished throughout the weekend and to honor those living with MS.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2014
- Walkers can stop for a quick bite at the hotel breakfast area. A continental breakfast will be served starting at 5:30 a.m.
- A shuttle bus will be provided for all Philadelphia Freedom Pass participants to the Day 2 starting line in downtown Easton, MD where they will kick off their last 10 miles!
- After venturing through the historic streets of downtown Easton, MD, walkers will be greeted by cheering friends and family as they finish their 30 mile journey.
- Once crossing the finish line, walkers will enjoy a finish line BBQ and music to celebrate a great weekend of walking and raising awareness of MS.
Be sure to invite family members and friends to join us at the finish line to help celebrate the accomplishments of the weekend.
